We got to go into Old Matt's Cabin
It was really neat. We also went into the Old Post office which has been well preserved. Seeing the Chapel was really cool. I wish we could have went into it too. It sure was hot outside, but our guide was very entertaining.
One of the best TOUR GUIDE!

The tour guide was so full of details about this area. The cabin was true to life, as how the folks of this era would have lived. Very enjoyable experience! If you get a chance it is a definite must do!
Loved Learning the History

The farm tour on the wagon was very well done by the tour guide. Learned the history of the author of Shepherd of the Hills book, where he lived while writing and who he met and how he lived. A lot of the original furnishings are in the log house. The Inspiration Tower has a beautiful view of Mutton Hollow where the author started writing and the mountains on the MO and AR border. There is a zipline from the tower through the trees down to the farm. The play is performed during the summer and the restaurant has very delicious food. Sunday brunch and there are brunches plus a menu. Wonderful service.

We highly recommend this tour. Our guide, John Fullerton, was very knowledgeable and knows the history and the area. We can hardly wait to read the book and see the play.
A humble Trip Guide

Our trip guide was Cowboy John. He also sings for The Sons of the Pioneers. He was extremely personable and we made a connection with him from other musicians we both knew. He was extremely knowledgeable about the tour and had his own family connections with the place. He brought so much extra attention to detail and rich history on the tour. He was very engaging with the folks on his tour and all the same folks came back for the evening show.
