Our website address is: https://www.discoverbranson.com.  This site is owned and operated by Discover Branson.  A vacation planning services and assistance for Branson visitors since 1981.  Any changes to our policy will be updated and sent via email.  If you ever have concerns, issues or questions, we encourate you to contact us via the information provided with our Privacy Policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it:

Comments:

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media:

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Security:

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. On our pages, plugins of the SoundCloud social network (SoundCloud Limited, Berners House, 47-48 Berners Street, London W1T 3NF, UK) may be integrated. The SoundCloud plugins can be recognized by the SoundCloud logo on our site.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

All reservations will require sharing your information for the purpose of finalizing your reservations.  Name, address, phone number, event date and time, along with any special requests will be shared with each venue.  That is a requirement to make the reservations on your behalf.  In some cases, Name and phone OR Name and Zip Code can be used.  If you would like to request us sending reduced information, please contact us via phone or email to request.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.  Data may also be sent to a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager), email program (Active Campaign, Mailchimp, Aweber), as well as other 3rd party softwares for the sole purpose of servicing your requests, orders, sign ups, submittions and inquiries.

What we collect and store

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Set up your account for our store

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Vacation Coordinators can access:

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

What we share with others

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example — Google Analytics, pixels, contact forms, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Ads, and other third party scripts, embed codes and various providers to provide better support and optimization of website and/or marketing campaigns to ensure a good customer experience.  If you are opposed to any of these, you must exit the site.  There is no method to restrict certain elements.

Payments

We accept payments through Authorize.net, a Visa company. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Authorize.net, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

When you request a quote, one of our brochures, enter a sweepstake, subscribe to receive promotional e–mails and newsletters, we may need to collect specific information about you to process your requests.

We request information from the user on our brochure request forms, sweepstakes entry forms and in our booking engines. Contact information (such as name, email, and mailing address), personal information (such as date of birth, gender) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date) to process the order, fulfill legal requirements and billing purposes. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.

We may also collect personal information about you from other third party partners such as online wedding platforms, Chamber/Visitor Bureau websites, Expedia, Priceline and others where you have opted to receive information about us and our event tickets, lodging, attractions, coupons, visitor guides and/or vacations.

We may use the information we collect to notify you of important product updates, special offers and promotions we think you may find valuable and to make our marketing efforts more personalized for you. If you do not wish to continue to receive e–mails from us, you can easily op–out via one of the meachanism we provide.

This site may contain links to 3rd party websites. We do not share any of your information with the linked website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites.
Opting out

If you no longer wish to receive our e–mails, we provide an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email sent to you. That link will send you to a landing page where an unsubscription confirmation is presented. Upon confirmation, your e–mail address will be completely removed from our database and you will no longer receive future communications from us.
