Waxy O’Shea’s

To celebrate in true Irish fashion, Waxy O’Shea’s Irish Pub is a great option if you’re interested in a lively atmosphere. Aside from having an extensive selection of draft beers from both national and local breweries, Waxy O’Shea’s Irish Pub has an excellent menu of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. The fare you’ll find here is varied, with both traditional British items and American bar classics being featured. One of the menu highlights are the Scotch eggs: hard-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, then breaded and fried to perfection. And it would be remiss not to mention the fantastic mustard that accompanies this tasty dish. Try the Scotch eggs; you won’t regret it.

If you’re looking for a party, Waxy O’Shea’s Irish Pub is without a doubt the place for you. Perhaps the most fitting choice for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, this Irish pub located at the Branson Landing is renowned for its annual St. Paddy’s festivities. This year, the fun begins with a breakfast buffet starting at 9:00 am and concluding at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 17. Waxy O’Shea’s will be featuring a musical performance by PirateyMike who plays from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Following this is Rachel Ammons, who will play from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The final act will be Brad Williams & The Dance Hall Prophets from 9:30 pm until bar close. Come for the festivities, stay for the shenanigans.

Downing Street Pour House

If you are in the mood for a more lowkey St. Patrick’s Day, we can’t recommend Downing Street Pour House enough. Located inside the Old English Inn on Downing Street in historic downtown Hollister, this classic English pub is conveniently just across the Taneycomo bridge. If your objective is to chill out, enjoy delicious food, and have a few pints with friends, choose this place as your St. Paddy’s destination. Downing Street Pour House also has an enchanting and spacious patio that feels magical on a warm night.

The relaxed atmosphere of Downing Street Pour House is enough to draw you in, but you will be floored by the quality of the food. One of the many menu highlights is the decadent Black & Bleu Wagyu Burger: tender wagyu beef is topped with eclectic selections of caramelized onions, bleu cheese, bacon, and blackberry sauce. The flavors combine beautifully to achieve a salty, savory, and sweet experience that is guaranteed to leave you mystified. Word to the wise: make sure to have extra napkins nearby before you devour this truly phenomenal burger.
